FFHut - A Forum Reborn
#1
If you browsed the FFHut forums back in the day, you might remember me running around these boards under the handle Zidane103. After two decades, the original ffhut.co.uk domain is officially back.

Quote:"A voice from the past, joining yours and mine."

This isn't an archive run by strangers. I bought our old home back. While I posted here as a kid named Zidane103, Z103 or Kaze, I go by Melterz- now. My aim is to scrape as much as I can of what used to be there, no matter how much some might make me cringe! I want to preserve some of the memories, and maybe bring back a little of what was there before modern internet destroyed small communities.

Well wow not a site I expected to see re born

This was my baby, started way back in 2001 and then around 2005 I believe I handed it over to others.

I may have some stuff on a hard drive, I'll have a look but. If you want the history of how and why it was made then ask away

And finally thank you. Looks great so far

I would love to know any of that, I think it would be great to document it!

I recall I found this site when you wrote into Official Playstation Magazine about the site. I had no idea what forums even were at that point, no idea that communities like this existed, so seeing that and later signing up to the forums was when I realised I could find people with common interests on the web and interact with and make friends with them

Thanks for getting in touch Melterz - When I saw your name in my inbox it was that moment of.. "I know that name, but I can't place where from".

I think this is a really cool project you've taken on. The original ffhut was a strong community for a good number of people, and certainly something red13 should feel very proud of. I think the fact that it's meant enough to you for you to take this on speaks volumes.

It sent me down the rabbit hole earlier of looking back at on the web archive machine. A lot of user names I recognise (and a lot that I didn't!), and a lot of nostalgia.

I'll certainly be watching this project with interest.
